Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show last week, the Bridesmaids star revealed she'd suffered an allergic reaction after something bit her while she was sleeping. 'I carry an EpiPen now because nobody knows [what it was]... it could be anything! ' Melissa explained that as a result of the bite, which was from either an animal or insect, her lips swelled to 'four times' their usual size.
Critics were quick to point out differences in the two situations and argued that Carano's firing was well deserved. Among those who responded to the essay was comedian Kathy Griffin who claimed she was a victim of blacklisting herself. Griffin was fired from CNN and lost endorsement deals in 2017 after sharing a video of herself holding Donald Trump's severed head.
